D4.2.1 Preliminary algorithms for the RUL estimation of the motor and the control

Executive Summary

This document describes the preliminary work carried out in the HEMIS project concerning the development of the algorithms for the estimation of the Remaining Useful Life (RUL) of the critical components of a Fully Electrical Vehicle (FEV).

The first issue addressed has been the definition of the interface for the PHMS in terms of input signals (physical characteristics which will be measured) and output (type of information which will be provided by the PHMS, e.g. assessment of the degradation state and/or prediction of the RUL).

Then, with respect to two critical components, i.e. bearings and capacitor the modelling approach embraced by the PHMS is discussed, a preliminary version of the developed algorithms is presented and the computational requirements are discussed.
